Citroën is a French automobile manufacturer which is now a part of PSA Peugeot Citroën. Its headquarters is Fructidor, Paris. It was founded by Andre Citroën. It was originally a mass-market car manufacturer noted for straightforward designs. Citroën came to limelight in 1934 with its innovative Traction Avant, the first mass-production front wheel drive car. There have been several subsequent models including H Van, DS, 2CV, and CX among others. It was Citroën that made the world’s first passenger car with a commercially available diesel engine. The car was named Rosalie. Citroën was a very clever marketer and his massive advertisements led to its huge sales. Its latest introduction C6 indicates its continued commitment to innovation in the 21st century.
